Hamio Market — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-02

These terms are an agreement between you and Hamio Market ("Hamio", "we"), operated from Kathmandu, Nepal. By creating an account or using the app you accept them.

1. What Hamio is

Hamio Market is a location-based app for Nepal where neighbours trade second-hand items, post in local communities, find jobs and groups, and, where available, buy from registered sellers in HAMIO Shopping.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old and verify a phone number. Social sign-in is only a convenience for signing in again. One person may hold one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your device secure.

3. Neighbourhood trading (peer to peer)

  • Hamio only connects buyers and sellers. Hamio is not a party to trades between users and does not process their payments. Pay each other directly (cash, eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer) and meet in safe public places.
  • Buyers and sellers resolve their own disputes. Hamio may help through the report and review system but does not guarantee any outcome.
  • Do not ask for or send payment before meeting unless you accept the risk; the app warns about common scam patterns.

4. HAMIO Shopping (where available)

  • Products in HAMIO Shopping are sold by registered sellers. Payment is made through eSewa, Khalti or bank transfer and is held by Hamio until you confirm delivery or a set period passes, then released to the seller.
  • Refunds, returns and disputes for shopping orders are handled inside the app. Hamio may refund the held amount when a dispute is decided in your favour or a group buy does not reach its target.
  • Sellers must be approved, keep their listings accurate and lawful, ship on time and honour the refund rules. Hamio may suspend a seller who does not.

5. Prohibited and restricted items

Nepali law and local custom apply to every listing.

ItemRule
Beef and cow productsNot allowed. Listings are blocked automatically.
PorkAllowed; a notice is shown to buyers.
AlcoholAllowed only with proof of a valid licence.
Weapons, drugs, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, wildlife products, adult contentNot allowed.

We may remove any listing, post or story that breaks the law or these terms without notice.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give Hamio a licence to store, display, translate and distribute it inside the service so that the app can work, and you confirm you have the right to post it. Do not post other people's personal information, hateful or harassing content, or anything illegal.

7. Acceptable use

Do not: create fake listings or reviews, harass or threaten others, scrape or copy the service, bypass security or verification, run several accounts to abuse rewards or referrals, or use the service for anything unlawful. We may warn, restrict or suspend accounts that do.

8. Reports and moderation

Anyone can report a listing, post, review, chat or user. Operators review reports and may hide content, warn, suspend or ban accounts. Blocking a user stops chats and live location sharing with that person.

9. Rewards and referrals

Points earned from attendance, referrals and events have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and may be adjusted or cancelled if they were earned by abuse.

10. Advertisers and business accounts

Advertising accounts and seller accounts are governed by additional terms shown when you apply. Hamio invoices advertising and subscription fees to businesses; those fees are separate from trades between users.

11. Service changes and availability

We may add, change or remove features, and some features (for example HAMIO Shopping) may be switched on gradually or by country. We try to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

12. Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent Nepali law allows, Hamio is not liable for losses arising from trades between users, user content, network outages, or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or through hamiomarket.com/account-deletion. Personal data is removed within 30 days; records that the law requires us to keep are retained as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms by publishing a new version in the app and on the website. Continued use after the update date means you accept the new terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kathmandu.
